Personal Life
I was born April 4th 1996 in Trenton Michigan. My mother is Debra J Kremer. My father is Mark K Kremer. My father is a mechanic, my mother a cook. We weren't wealthy. My mom worked 2 jobs and my father was fortunate enough to have a skill in high demand at the time. We lived in Riverview on West Jefferson Ave. In time we moved to another area of the city and kept our old home as a rental. In time we had 2 rental homes, and a building maintenance company. The economey took a downturn and we lost almost everything. My parents divorced and my mother moved to Wyandotte. My father moved to Southgate, then back to Riverview. At age 18 I moved to Southgate Michigan where I currently reside.
Educational Life
I attended Riverview Schools from Preschool until the end of 11th grade. I wasn't always the best student. During class I would find myself daydreaming and interested in other things. I was always a dreamer and I would talk about all the different things I wanted to do. I would tell my classmates about wanting to be a NASCAR driver, and my interest in politics. During the 2004 election I was in 3rd grade arguing with my classmates about George W. Bush and Senator (at the time) John Kerry. My imagination and interests put me at odds with classmates in the predominately upper middle class area. We all took after our parents political views and they had Republican parents, I however did not. I was not a big kid, I was small and did not fit in with the other students. Arguments and physical altercations were common, and my parents always told my to never back down. I defended myself, however I was never the first one to hit, as my parents would be upset with me. I didn't mind getting in trouble at school as I saw their system unfair anyway, but my parents were just. As I got older my classmates and I matured, and I started making friends. I still had problems focusing in class, and would frequently write and draw up plans and ideas for bigger things. I fell behind in credits in High School at Riverview and thus I couldn't take part in student government. Eventually I was in danger of graduating late so in preparation for what would have been my senior year I switched to Southgate Community School District. I attended Asher Alternative High. I led the Student Council and was the Representative to the Board of Education from my High School. I was active in the Michigan Alternative Education Organization STARS (MAEOSTARS) program where I served on the student state board. Despite my efforts to complete two plus years of schooling in only a year, I was short one class at the end of 2014. Instead of finishing in 2014 I finished in January 2015, half a year behind. I will walk in June 2015 to officially receive my diploma.
Political Career
I have always been interested in politics, and community service and activism. At an early age I witnessed the horrific events of 9/11 and decided to dedicate my life to helping my fellow Americans. I saw President Bush at Ground Zero with the workers and victims, inspiring them, and wanted to be in that line of work. I wanted to be someone who people look to for help in times of crisis. I want to help. I ran for class representative in 8th grade at Riverview, but lost as it was more of a popularity contest, which is what I still see as the unfortunate truth of politics. In 2013 I helped form and led a Student Council at my High School, Asher Alternative in Southgate. I led the Student Council for 3 Semesters until I took office on the Board of Education in January 2015. I was selected by the administration to be Representative to the Board of Education from my High School from 2013-2014. I resigned a few weeks before the election of 2014 to avoid any form of conflict with election rules. In the organization known as MAEOSTARS I ran for and won a seat on the state board of students which I held for the 2013-2014 school year. In late 2014 a member of the Board was going to be running for the Michigan State House of Representatives, and a seat was up for grabs. I had been a Student Rep to the board for almost a year, and the seat interested me. I spoke to members of the board and received favorable feedback. I decided I was going to run. The other member decided during the campaign season to run for re-election instead of the Michigan House. I won with 94% of the vote on November 4th 2014. I was sworn in January 6th 2015. On April 8th 2015 I had my first meeting as a Commissioner of the Southgate Veterans Memorial Library, to which I was appointed by the Mayor and approved by the Southgate City Council.
